OUTCASTS FROM EVOLUTION Scientific Attitudes of Racial Inferiority, 1859-1900

xv+228, 8 ills.; ex-public library with remnants of lobel & pocket to fr.pastedown, acquisition stamp verso t.p., very faint top outer corner crease through to p.5, parallel brown rust lines vertically down endpapers, affecting just top and bottom of front but, very faintly, entire length of back, do not know cause of this. Yellow cloth covers clean, bright and unworn but two short sellotape ghost. to back from centre top and bottom edges; unclipped jacket in protective wrapper somewhat rippled due to tightness of this, otherwise clean and undamaged bar an unsightly lib.label removal bottom spine which has left white patch of surface lost and a hole in wrapper. Overall, an odd mixture of the pristine and spoiled. Landmark text in the history of scientific racism, scarce in UK.
