Obviously you would try to discover the reason, or at least some explanation. If there is no earthly explanation, then a Christian attributes it to God, which is what each of the three main characters do. They want to be obedient to God, but have a tough time figuring out exactly what God has in mind for them. When they eventually meet, as they are entering college, they find that their experiences were very similar, though their abilities are different. They decide that God orchestrated their meeting, and that He has something specific in mind for their lives. The story is set in the 1950's and the Cold War and the Space Race are foremost on most people's mind. The young men become involved with the U.S. government and close to President Eisenhower, who dispatches them to the Soviet Missile facility in the middle of the Kazakhstan to try to answer questions the U.S. scientists have about missile technology. Along the way they discover that some Arabic extremists have acquired a nuclear weapon and are transporting it close to Israel with the intention of obliterating the country. Their adventures as they follow the group with the weapon across several Islamic countries, reinforce their belief that God has chosen them for the task. For the Christian reader, the precepts are quite believable. For non-Christian readers, it's still a good story. This item is printed on demand.
