Professor El Toukhy is the Head of the Scientific Council of the Egyptian Board of ophthalmology and the Head of Training at the Arab Board of Health Specializations .He is the Director of the Medical Education Center, Cairo University and the previous Director of the National Eye Institute and Rod El Farag Eye Bank. Professor El Toukhy has published several books on Oculoplasty & reconstructive Surgery and authored many book chapters on this topic. He has operated, lectured and trained in over 30 countries and has served as Advisor on trachoma to the World Health Organization. He organizes a yearly “Oculoplasty from A-Z” course for residents and fellows from around the world since 2006.
