Bound in Quarted brown calf over marbled boards with gilt titles and lovely gilt decoration to each spine showing portrait of Rousseau, cherub, angel harp, book etc, speckled page edges, plain end-papers. Condition very good, ex-library, the Bibliotheque Guille-Alles in Guernsey with their labels to the spines and front paste-downs and stamps to half-titles and verso of frontispiece in volume 1, no other markings. Corners hinges and spine ends rubbed, some light spotting to text pages in most volumes but generally contents are quite clean. With engravings in each volume. Text is in French.
