A "Native American's" Account, as Recorded as Petroglyphs, of His Tribe's Migration Travels as They Followed the Mighty River and Magnificent Canyons to The Virgin River. & THE OFFENCE OF THE EVIL MAN! (And its Consequences!) The Story of a Flagrant, Native America Environmental Health Episode, as Petroglyphs, Sometime in the Distant Past, and Translated and Interpreted Here in the 21 st Century
These two stories are taken from adjoining slabs of stone containing ancient "Petroglyphs." They were recorded many centuries ago by a Native American. The first story tells about his Clan's migration travels along the Mighty River with its Magnificent Canyons, ending up on the Virgin River (in Nevada.). Then later he added a second story about a devastating health-related event that afflicted his Clan.
Through a series of coincidental (accidental or remarkable) conditions, events and happenings, beginning some time in the distant past and ending in our day, they were able to be translated into the above two recorded petroglyph stories. Because of at least two other people's dedicated work it was possible for this writer, through a deliberate and committed effort, to translate and interpret these two stories to an "understandable" readable level. These two historical petroglyph accounts remain in their natural state at a "Special Location" in Nevada, near the Virgin River. In order for the translation and interpretation of these stories to take place at least four things had to transpire.
1. THERE HAD TO BE A COMMON, ANCIENT, (SECONDARY) LANGUAGE ONCE USED BY MANY, IF NOT ALL, NATIVE AMERICAN TRIBES.
This was known as a "sign-language" method of communication that allowed Native Americans from many language backgrounds to communicate with each other. It was expressed in symbols, which could be permanently recorded on rocks as petroglyphs. While there would have been a certain degree of consistency in many of the symbols used in the "sign-language," there would also have been a never-ending expansion of symbols generated to express cultural and geographical concepts. Nevertheless, the more "consistently and frequently" the petroglyphs were used, the greater the chance of future generations reading and understanding their stories.
2. SOMEONE HAD TO USE "CONSISTENTLY AND FREQUENTLY" USED SYMBOLS.
In another time, a Native American "Shaman" or "story teller," anxious to record a history of their "Migration," and later their unfortunate "Health Episode," recorded these histories in some detail on petroglyphs, using those symbols most commonly known and used among the various tribes.
3. THERE HAD TO BE A MODERN-DAY RESEARCHER OF PETROGLYPHS.
A committed and dedicated researcher, LaVan Martineau, was able to identify many of the more consistent symbols and meanings expressed in petroglyph by using Cryptanalytical methods. By publishing his research in his book "THE ROCKS BEGIN TO SPEAK," he made available to others, many of the keys needed to read many of the petroglyph stories written.
4. THIS WRITER HAD TO HAVE ACCESS TO ANCIENT STORIES USING THESE CONSISTENT SYMBOLS, THE RESEARCH IDENTIFYING WHAT THEY MEANT, AND BE WILLING TO MAKE A SERIOUS ATTEMPT TO TRANSLATE THEM. These things the writer had, and with all of this in hand it became possible, by using of a lot of analytical thought and logic, to read these stories recorded on stone.
