Depuis la Réformation l?ancien bréviaire du diocèse n?avait pas été réimprimé, il devint tous les jours plus rare et il fut remplacé peu à peu par le bréviare romain. Pour conserver le culte des saints propres au diocèse, Strambin publia un supplément à ce bréviare, en1672. C?est le premier propre du diocèse (P. Martin Schmitt, (dans) Mémorial de Fribourg VI/506).
