His bronze and nickel-silver sculptures as well as his gouaches and pastels relate to the `Blaue Reiter`, the famous almanach published by Franz Marc and Vasilij Kandinsky in 1912, not just in terms of color; Ofili also shares the demands for equality of Western and non-European Art, including high and folk art, and the idea of a synthesis of the arts with this historical movement.
