Retired counsellor and self-described people observer, Trish Sara writes with whit and self-deprecating humour about her experience of ageing and observations of others in the ageing process.

She challenges the reader to review their attitude to old age and live their best life appreciating the wonderful doors that open with old age notwithstanding the challenges it invariably brings.

She provides insights gained from her experience counselling mature women and taps into elements of positive psychology to ask the reader to undertake a stock take of their life to date and consider how a change of perspective can bring satisfaction, joy and personal growth.

Trish explores a wide range of topics including; the way we see ourselves in old age, our perceptions and pre-conceived ideas about what it is to be old, the stories we tell ourself and how these can get in the way. She also challenges the reader take a personal stand on the ageism that exists in our western culture.

Trish Sara is a 68-year-old grandmother, mother of two and wife of 36 years. She has been a public relations consultant, retailer, website owner and in more recent years a counsellor specialising in working with mature women. Throughout her life she has been a keen observer of others, particularly their relationships and behaviours. In this, her first book, she makes observations about her own ageing process and offers her conclusions about ageing well, writing anecdotes about these with wisdom, candour and self-deprecating humour.

Ben Weir is a Sydney-based illustrator and creative director. Once an aspiring film maker, Ben soon realised he needed to feed his children and switched to his current day job in the glamorous world of advertising. In between directing events and corporate videos for a diverse set of evil corporations, he finds time to draw.
