Even Old Dogs Can Teach New Tricks: And Even More Spiritual Life Lessons I Learned from My Dogs

What can dogs teach us about God?

More than you might think.

From barking at brooms to stealing beds and chasing invisible threats, Ranger, Finn, and Kirby—the lovable canine trio in Dave Smith’s home—are more than just pets. They’re four-legged mess-makers with a surprising gift for revealing life’s deeper truths.

In this heartwarming and humorous collection, Dave shares true stories of everyday chaos and unexpected wisdom from life with three very different dogs. Each chapter wraps up with a spiritual reflection—offering encouragement, biblical insight, and a smile (or laugh) along the way.

Whether it’s the quiet loyalty of an old dog, the clumsy excitement of a younger one, or the relentless energy of a tiny pup, their adventures become unforgettable illustrations of grace, perseverance, joy, and purpose.

Perfect for individuals, couples, or families looking for a fun and meaningful devotional experience.

If you love dogs, appreciate faith-filled encouragement, or just need a reason to laugh out loud and reflect deeply, this book will be your new favorite companion.

Because sometimes, God’s best lessons come with muddy paws.
