Presumed 1907 - originally published in 2 'series' in 1905 & 1907, this is a complete edition with one single title page. Unpaginated. 54 tipped-in B&W plates, 27 from each series, each plate accompanied by a page of text, the first letter of which is in a large, decorative font. Beautiful plates - pencil drawings of buildings, houses, closes of Edinburgh's Old Town - Grassmarket, Cowgate, West Port, West Bow, High Street, Canongate etc. Bound in quarter green leather spine over green cloth boards. Gilt titles to spine. Top edge gilt. Gilt crest to upper board. Very good condition with some wear to the spine and corners. Some minor soiling to boards. Offsetting to endpapers. Previous owner's name and address to ffep. PLEASE NOTE: Heavy book so extra will be needed for shipping to non-UK customers.
