hardback, four volumes complete, fourth editions of both the Old and New Testaments published in 1836 and 1838 respectively, each in two volumes and here uniformly bound in full calf. Gilt titles on contrasting red and black labels to spines, compartments blocked gilt. The stitching of the text blocks is tight but the upper boards of volumes II and IV have detached. thus good only but still a handsome set. Name of a previous owner to the verso of the font free endpaper of volume I together with a loosely inserted letter to the same, from the author.
