About this Item

9" x 6". 15pp. Illustrated stapled wrappers. Wrappers a bit soiled; generally a VG+ example. A mock - epic poem based on Seattle mayor Ole Hanson. Hanson made his reputation by breaking the Seattle General Strike, and later travelled the lecture circuit as an authority on radicals. He is generally regarded as a better lecturer than mayor. Hanson testified as an expert witness on Bolshevism in a 1920 trial of twenty Chicago Communist Labor Party members. Clarence Darrow neatly skewered him as "a lightheaded notoriety hunter" who abandoned "Seattle.to the devil while he raked in the shekels" on the lecture circuit. Bookseller Inventory # 25133
