About the Author

Elisa Davy Pearmain is a professional storyteller, licensed therapist, and the award-winning author of Doorways to the Soul: 52 Wisdom Tales from Around the World. She began her career as a storyteller in 1987 with a position as Storyteller in Residence in the Boston Public Schools. Since then she has performed for thousands of students accross New England in grades pre-K - 8, and has come to believe that every child and every teacher can be a storyteller. The students' delight in hearing and telling stories keeps her eager to teach storytelling as a means to help young children grow in character, wisdom and respect for all living things.
