While Julianna and Faelin flee from their enemies, they encounter Grandfather Shadow's followers for the first time in the small town of Shadybrook. For a time, it seems as if they might finally have found a place of peace and rest, but some of those followers are harboring secrets of their own. Soon, the Brotherhood of the Night and Kingdom Inquisitors descend on Shadybrook.
