About the Author
As a cofounder of The Boomerang Project, Micah co-leads its nationally recognized transition and orientation programs, Link Crew and WEB. Link Crew and WEB together reach more than 4 million freshmen and 6th graders each fall in more than 4,000 schools in 6 different countries, helping to create positive school climates where kids feel comfortable, engaged, and successful. The Boomerang Project also produces outstanding faculty in-service, teacher training, and Open to Outcome Workshops.
Micah holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and in addition to working in education has been a manager for both consulting and technology companies. His passion continues to be working to help people engage more actively in their own lives.
Mari Ruddy is a speaker, writer and educator. She s been a high school Spanish teacher, Activities Director, and a school Assistant Principal and Principal. In addition, she helped start over 35 Big Picture Learning high schools throughout the United States.
Mari owned a small company that trained people with diabetes to be endurance athletes. Mari got involved as an American Diabetes Association volunteer and she created Team Red and the Red Rider Program for cyclists with diabetes, which are used at the more than 85 Tour de Cure rides across the United States. There are now more than 10,000 cyclists with diabetes who wear the Red Rider jersey Mari created.
Mari earned an MA in Educational Leadership from San Jose State University. She lives and exercises in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
