Opening to the Mystery

Erica McArthur died in a car accident in 2000 at the age of 23.

Through a collection of inspiring stories, moving poems, and lyrical songs by her father, Jake McArthur, this book provides an intimate window into a curious series of experiences that he had, both prior to and following the accident.

In these pages, which will make you laugh and cry - and contemplate - you will find reasons to wonder about non-material reality. You will not find declarative certainty. You will find questions rather than answers. But the book will make you think.

JAKE McARTHUR is a poet, and a playwright, and actor, as well as a celebrant for end-of-life ceremonies and weddings. He was a long-time volunteer with hospice. For over 20 years he served as president and/or CEO of a number of retail chains in Canada. A resident of Collingwood Ontario with his wife Roz, he is the father of Colin, as well as Erica, and grandfather to Julian, Devon, Lucy, and Travis.
