Operation Glasshouse (Paperback or Softback)

Operation Glasshouse is the first book in 'The Lance Files' series for YA (14+), a spy novel along the lines of Alex Rider and Cherub.

-----------------

He doesn't carry a gun. Tonight he'll find out whether that was ever a good idea.

Eighteen-year-old Lance is the Special Operations Assessment Unit's quietest asset: no weapon, no footprints, and a linen blazer full of lock-picks. Tonight's job is meant to be simple - slip into Vanguard Tower Two during a glittering harbour-side gala and prove, politely, that its security is a joke.

Then the lights die. The lifts lock. And a team of armed mercenaries begins burning their way up toward the thirty-second floor. They haven't come to test the building. They've come to steal something a foreign buyer will pay nine figures for, and they intend to leave no one behind to describe them.

Cut off from his team, his comms jammed, trapped with a terrified young engineer who knows exactly what's locked in the vault, Lance has six hours and nothing but his wits. The exits are sealed. The clock is running. And the only way up is a dispatch pipe nobody has used since 1985.

The building wants to drop him. He has no intention of letting it.

A real-time, non-lethal spy thriller for readers of Anthony Horowitz's Alex Rider and Robert Muchamore's CHERUB - with a hero who outthinks the room instead of outshooting it.
