Ray Spanner loves challenges, preferably those which include monetary compensation. If they aren't available, he creates them with no thought to the consequences: legal or illegal, it makes no difference to him. Ray believes the more risky the activity, the more pleasurable it will be. He traveled all over the world and back again. But no matter where he was, whether it be Atlantic City or Taiwan, he was always looking for the next Operation Opportunity.

Ralph Simmons was born and raised on a ranch in the Nebraska Sandhills. His desire to experience risky, unusual activity and seek profitable opportunities led him away from his conservative Mid-Western up-bringing to all corners of the earth. In Ralph time he was a merchant seaman, union organizer, cowboy, scuba diver, and gambler. The life of Ray Spanner is based on Ralph's personal experiences.
