Operations management deals with the conversion of inputs into outputs using physical resources in order to provide tangible or intangible utilities (or a combination of both) to the customer. In the process however the organisational objectives of effectiveness efficiency and adoptability are to be maintained. Operations management distinguishes itself from the other functions such as personal marketing etc. by its primary concern for conversion by using physical resources. It is the process by which resources and inputs are converted into more useful products.
