The Oration Of Aeschines Against Ctesiphon: With Notes (1850)

The Oration of Aeschines Against Ctesiphon is a historical text that was originally delivered as a speech in Athens in 330 BC. The speech was given by Aeschines, a Greek statesman and orator, who was arguing against a proposal made by Ctesiphon to honor Demosthenes, another famous Athenian politician. In this book, J.T. Champlin provides a complete English translation of the speech along with detailed notes and commentary. The notes offer historical context, explanations of Greek terms and references, and analysis of Aeschines' rhetorical strategies.
