Book Condition: Poor: Light wear to corners and edges. Heavier wear to spine edges with 1cm loss to upper spine end. Cracked endpapers with some previous repairs. Inscription to fly page. Age toned unmarked pages DJ Condition: Na. Pages Unpaginated. PROVENANCE: INSCRIPTION: To John Hugh Granville Randolph (Bishop of Guildford & Dean of Salisbury) on his consecration by Randall Davidson, Archbishop of Canterbury, at Lambeth Palace Chapel. JOHN HUGH GRANVILLE RANDOLPH (1866-1936):Bishop of Guildford and then Dean of Salisbury in the Church of England in the first decades of the 20th century. Born into an ecclesiastical family his father Leveson Randolph was a priest. Educated at Eton and Trinity College, Cambridge, he was ordained into the priesthood in 1890. His first post was a curacy in Margate, after which he was Vicar of All Saints, Westbrook, then St Marks, North End, before his appointment to the episcopate. In late 1908-1909, Randolph was appointed as Bishop of Dorking and Bishop of Guildford. He was consecrated on 21 February 1909, by Randall Davidson, Archbishop of Canterbury, at Lambeth Palace Chapel.
