Ordinary Angels

Ordinary Angels is a poetry collection about the people who pass through our lives, the ones who stay, the ones who save us, and the quiet moments that become holy only after we look back.

Alexander Tokar writes with tenderness, honesty, and a deep belief that beauty can be found in ordinary places: under store signs, across Indiana skies, in grief, friendship, memory, survival, and the small acts of kindness that keep a person going.

These poems move through brief encounters, lasting bonds, loss, forgiveness, and coming home to yourself. At its heart, Ordinary Angels is a book about noticing - the smile, the voice, the room, the road, the person who mattered more than they ever knew.

For anyone who has ever been changed by someone ordinary, only to realize later they were never ordinary at all.

Alexander Tokar is a writer from Indiana who believes poetry is the art of noticing - in love, in friendship, in fleeting moments, and in the everyday. His work is rooted in the people who shaped his story, the places that held them, and the ordinary moments that turned into something unforgettable. Ordinary Angels is his third collection.
