Light brown cloth on board with green lettering to the front and spine. Very light bumping to the top and bottom of the spine otherwise the cover is very clean and tidy. In a price clipped dust jacket which has a tear at the bottom of the spine and small piece missing from the top overall it is a little scuffed and grubby iInternally the book is in excellent condition throughout with t is however in a protective cover. Illustrated throughout with original dry-points and etchings by Winifred Austin. his revised edition has emphasised the need following the war to shoot and eat rabbits and other game he shows how vermin such as stoats crows and magpies were allowed to take over the countryside and game such as rabbits pheasants and woodcock were driven almost to extinction especially around military camps. A fascinating look at rural social history.
