Original publisher's white paper wrappers with staple binding. Color illustration of an Oregon valley and red, white, and black lettering on front cover. Interior pages on newsprint-type paper. No date, circa 1910s. 8 1/4" x 10 1/2." Thirty-two pages, complete. Several black-and-white illustrations, complete. One color map of Oregon printed on inside of front cover. One black-and-white map showing the Great Northern Railway in part of the U.S., including Oregon, printed on inside of back cover (has one section of printed red ink highlighting Oregon). Pages are very clean and intact except for light age toning, slight edge wear, and several small wrinkles. Covers are very clean and intact except for light age toning, slight splitting along spine, several tiny stains, slight edge wear, and small wrinkles. A Very Good copy. A promotional booklet encouraging settlement in Oregon and travel via the Great Northern Railway. Much of the booklet is about promoting the economy and industries of Central Oregon, but specific places in this part of Oregon and other regions, such as Western Oregon and "Columbia River Country" are also highlighted. Various aspects of Oregon are described and promoted such as its agricultural and economic opportunities, quality of land, and lumber industry; demand for Oregonian products outside of the state; and its quality of education, Oregon Agricultural College, accessibility to Great Northern Railway lines in the state, Crater Lake National Park, outdoor recreation, availability of government land, cultivation of crops, and dairying, stockraising, fruit-growing, and manufacturing industries. There are brief individual spotlights about Wasco and Sherman Counties, Crook County, Harney County, Lake County, Klamath County, Malheur County, Willamette Valley, Umpqua River Valley, Rogue River Valley, Columbia and Clatsop Counties, Multnomah County, Hood River Valley, Portland, Portland Rose Festival, and Astoria. In the back is a blank order or request form (with fill-in date of "191_") to General Immigration Agent E. C. Leedy on which petitioners could request information about train tickets to move from their current place of residence in the United States to Oregon.…
