About this Item
Revised and slightly expanded iteration of this booklet from Colt published and distributed "for the promotion of better marksmanship and in the interest of better citizenship." Explores topics such as setting up a range, shooting for women, firing, aiming and citing, care of firearms, national associations, and many others. Interesting provenance from J. Warshal & Sons sporting goods in Seattle, which began as a pawnshop in the city, run by Russian-Jewish immigrants, Jacob and Frieda Warshal. By 1936, with the help of his sons, the business moved into the sale of sporting goods and firearms. Both iterations of the pamphlet are scarce. OCLC cites only 5 holdings, and they all seem to be of the 51pg version from 1929. 18x13cm, 56pp. Photographs, illustrations, diagrams. "Shooting Suggestions" bifold, [4]pp laid in. Gray textured paper wrappers lettered in blue with target illustration on front cover. Sporting supplies store stamp to front cover and title page, transfer stain to rear wrapper else clean and nearly fine. Seller Inventory # 6171
