Indian Classical Musical tradition has mostly been oral with each Gharana preserving its individuality and privacy. Avijit Ghosh is one of the most promising musicians of the Senia Maihar Gharana who continues the work of preserving the rich heritage of Indian Classical Music through the Sarod. He has completed his M.A and earned his doctorate in Instrumental Music from the Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. He has received several National and International awards.
