. "I illustrated a whole series of cloth-bound books calleld "Library of Science for the Workers." (Chaplin, Wobbly, p. 104) Referring to the drawings offered here,Chaplin continues, "These were mostly pen drawings copied at the Newberry Library from.Haeckel's 'Kunstformen de Natur.'" The Boelsche book was part of this series. There are 10 Images on 7 separate sheets. A typical example is "VIII Cladocora Coespitora," a 4 x 4" image on a 5½ x 7" sheet of paper. It appears in the book as a 2½ x 2¾" illustration. The images are of Discomedusa, Siphonophore, Cray-Fish, Sea Urchin, Cladocora, Star Fish, Dinoflagellates, a group of Radiolaria, etc. Most of the drawings appearing in the book are here.
