Jim Brooks. Approx 14 x 11 inches. Watercolor/goache on artists' board. Minor wear to extremities, some doodles on the back. Sound, noting some minor damage to the image on the chair arm, left side. A visitor to Treasurer Mr Snow's office wants "our computer to meet your computer". Based on the classic oak style desk, we'd guess the 1960s/70s. I love that the smiling photograph of the treasurer on the wall is very different from the frowning one on the receiving end of the message. After all, even though computers were first found in many financial settings, connecting them wasn't an easy task until much later. It could also be pre-computer, when a "computer" was a person. But a financial operation would have more than one "computer" (person who calculated numbers) so we lean towards the physical computer itself. We have been unable so far to determine who artist Jim Brooks was or where he worked.
