Orthographie ist Teil der schriftsprachlichen Kompetenz und hat mit dem gesamten Sprachsystem zu tun. Ein Verst�ndnis daf�r kommt ohne einen Blick auf den historischen Wandel nicht aus, dem sowohl der Gegenstand als auch seine wissenschaftliche Bearbeitung ausgesetzt war und ist. Rechtschreiben wird von der Sprechergemenschaft als bedeutsam erachtet, dabei jedoch nicht emotionslos verhandelt und auch nicht immer mit den n�tigen Kenntnissen praktiziert. Orthographisches K�nnen spielt jedoch als F�higkeit zur Teilhabe an schriftsprachlicher Kommunikation, diskursiver Praxis und damit als Grundlage f�r eine erfolgversprechende Lebensbew�ltigung eine wichtige und unverzichtbare Rolle im Bildungsauftrag der Schule.
