The paintings in this book emerged from a process honed for more than three decades. Art has always been my primary mode of expression. Art classes in junior high and high school led to a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, work in technical illustration, mapmaking, jewelry work, teaching art and continued art education. About fourteen years before the accident I began a disciplined daily meditation practice and study that continued until the accident. Additionally my child and adult near death experiences contributed to my continual internal spiritual exploration. The near death experience at the time of the accident was instrumental in my healing process.
