This was the first of five juvenile baseball fiction books that Mary Bonner wrote. The publisher would not use her first name, fearful that a baseball book written by a woman would not sell. Here young boys grow together as they play baseball during the summer. Has nice illustrations by Howard Butler on the front cover and throughout the book. Ex-library with normal markings, the book is in fair condition. I have around 300 juvenile baseball fiction books and more than 85 baseball titles written by and about woman and girls in baseball.
