Outside The Wire: a U.S. Marine's Collection of Combat Poems & Short Stories Volume 2 is the second volume of combat poetry and short stories from poet/author Justin T. Eggen. Volume II gives genuine insight and perspective into the arduous and destructive environment that a generation of men and women found themselves in post 9/11. Eggen's poetry is the eerie truth that was Operation Enduring Freedom: a battlefield riddled with tens of thousands of improvised explosive devices while American troops navigated their way through being ambushed, taking indirect fire & fighting the hidden threat that lay beneath the ground. Eggen's words immerse you on the ground, holding a metal detector scanning for non-metallic IEDs in a foreign country surrounded by an enemy you cannot see. This book is not to be missed.
