In 2013, an avalanche swept him over a cliff, causing a 140-metre fall and severe brain injuries. His doctors predicted he might only communicate by blinking.

Yet nine years later, through sheer determination and relentless effort, Pete made a remarkable recovery. Though he has some speech challenges and an unusual gait, he has conquered incredible new goals, including cycling the equivalent of once around the equator.
