This 7.25 x 10.75 inch, 53 page hardcover book is the handsome 1970 first edition of this title and published by Lewis Osborne. This copy is in fine condition and really could be judged as new. The red buckram cloth is without any flaw and the gilt design on the front panel and lettering on the spine are the shiniest of the shiny. There is virtually no wear to the bottom edges. There inside text pages again are in fine condition with the different endpaper maps showing overland routes and the text pages flawless and illustrated with numerous period lithographs and illustrations from the era. The last un-numbered pages of the book show the differing coach designs used for many of the overland vehicles. Lewis Osborne's won distinction for himself in an award for this book and would continue to publish FinPress titles in limited editions. This title was limited to 650 copies - - this being #149. The book has the plain white paper wrapper as issued but it does show wear, sunning to the spine, and some very little chipping at the folds, but the wrapper, all in all, is in very good condition. 53 pages.
