Gift quality 1965 2nd printing paperback without names, tears or soil, only flaws are age-toning on cover and 175pp text. Pages browned but not brittle, no dog-ears, partial spine crease but really appears unread. Signet book Q3036. John Lennon wrote and published two books during his time with the Beatles; In His Own Write and A Spaniard in the Works are essentially collections of surreal, humorous, prose and poetry. In His Own Write, published in '64, features surreal, absurdist short stories and wordplay-filled poems. It showcases Lennon's wit and literary creativity, offering a glimpse into his unique sense of humor beyond his musical persona. A Spaniard in the Works, Lennon's second book, published a year later, features more of the same -- nonsense poetry and prose as well as surreal, playful wordplay, absurdist humor, and deliberately misspelled text, all of which showcased Lennon's wit and creativity away from McCartney and The Beatles.
