The book features numerous full-page illustrations. From the Preface: "These papers do not profess even to sketch the outlines of a history of Oxford. They are merely records of the impressions made by this or that aspect of the life of the University." Condition: Clean covers and spine with bright gilt on the front cover and spine. Sharp cover corners. Tight binding with no loose pages. There is an insignificant crack at the rear hinge between the last text page and end paper resulting in the back cover being just a bit shaky. The front cover is firmly attached. Nice interior - the pages are mostly clean with only some tanning and foxing to the end papers and pastedowns, and to the half title page and last text page (282). There is a neatly written inscription in ink dated 1903 on the front end paper. Overall the book is in Very Good- condition.
