About the Author

Susan Price's first book, The Devil's Piper, was accepted for publication when she was just 16. Since then she has published about 60 books, including: The Ghost Drum, which won the Carnegie Medal in 1987, and The Sterkarm Handshake, which won The Guardian Children's Fiction Award in 1997. Sara Ogilvie illustrates for a diverse range of editorial, design, publishing and advertising projects. She is also a printmaker and has exhibited her work across the UK and abroad, including USA, Canada, Poland, Japan, Korea and France. She has been shortlisted for The Roald Dahl Funny Prize 2010 and the Booktrust Early Years Illustrator Award 2010. Nikki Gamble is the founder and Director of Write Away and Just Imagine Story Centre. Nikki has worked in education and reading promotion for over 25 years, Formerly a teacher (secondary and primary) and teacher educator, she is lecturer, writer and education consultant. Nikki is also on the current Executive Committee of United Kingdom Literacy Association (UKLA).
