The Oxford Textbook of Trauma and Orthopaedics provides comprehensive coverage of the relevant background science, theory, practice, decision-making skills, and operative techniques required to provide modern orthopaedic and trauma care. The text is divided into five major sections, covering: fundamental science; adult orthopaedics; trauma; paediatric orthopaedics; and paediatric trauma, including a major subsection on tumours. Additionally, the adult orthopaedics section is further subdivided to cover the joint and bone systems of the body.

Christopher Bulstrode did his undergraduate training at both Oxford and Cambridge, and his post-graduate training in London. He has been Clinical Reader in Oxford since 1987 where he has been in charge of the Undergraduate Teaching of trauma and orthopaedics.
