The book is square and straight with some loosening at the gutters. The book is rubbed throughout with some edgewear at the extremities. a bookplate on the front pastedown indicates prior ownership by Harding "Pete" LeMay, a Knop editor and well-known author and playwright as well as a two-time Emmy Award-winning author of two prominent raidio operas, Guiding Light and Another World. A Passage to India is Forster's best book, a novel by Forster set against the backdrop of the British Raj and the Indian independence movement in the 1920s. It was selected as one of the 100 great works of 20th century English literature by the Modern Library and won the 1924 James Tait Black Memorial Prize for fiction.
