Red cloth backed color pictorial glazed paper covered boards with light signs of aging to the cloth, light wear to the board corners and edges, including a small triangular shaped chip to both paper and board at the lower edge of the front cover, and light scattered soiling for what is still a very nice copy of the book. Gray floral motif endpapers; FFE detached and with gift inscription dated Dec. 25th, 1894; light damp staining along gutter of back endpaper. [28] pp. The book contains eight short children's stories told in verse; each story is illustrated with numerous sepia drawings within text; four of the stories are additionally illustrated with one of four full color double page pop-up scenes; pop-ups are all complete and functioning properly with the exception of the loss of one soldier's head in the first pop-up scene (alas, a casualty of either time or war).
