28 vols, including index. A complete set of twenty-eight hardcover books bound in black cloth. Good reading condition overall. Corners of boards and tips of spine are generally worn. Pastor's bookplate inside each volume's front cover, and some volumes have notes in pencil on the rear endpapers. Hinges of some volumes were cracked, but have been reglued, so the binding is tight enough for normal handling. Divots on the front board of Acts I. Ink spots and crayon scribbles on rear endpaper of Matthew III. Pencil marginalia on some pages, but majority of text is clean. Obviously well-used but still in good condition for reading and reference. Scarce complete set of this biblical commentary by Congregational minister Joseph Parker (1830-1902), a colleague of Henry Ward Beecher and Charles Spurgeon. Seller Inventory # 314337
