White paper covers with color pictorial illustration on front cover; patch of mild foxing at front cover's lower right. Interior pages are bright and clean and binding remains fairly crisp. A very good+ copy. Total of thirteen color illustrations (mostly on rectos) by George Frederick Castleden (1861-1945) and Catherine Howell reproduced from oil paintings hanging at the D.H. Holmes Restaurant. Color French Quarter map on pages 14-15. Text promotes the city's famous D.H. Holmes department store which had its flagship location on Canal Street for years and was founded in 1842 by Daniel Henry Holmes and operated until 1989.
