Dr. Eugene Lin is the author of several radiology books, including PET and PET/CT: A Clinical Guide, Body CT: The Essentials, and Practical Differential Diagnosis for CT and MRI. He is the editor-in-chief for radiology for Medscape Reference. Dr. Lin has a strong interest in teaching and was awarded Teacher of the Year as a faculty member at Virginia Mason Medical Center.
A pioneer of PET imaging, Dr. Abass Alavi was the first to perform human PET studies of the brain and whole body using the radiotracer [18F]Fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG). He is Professor of Radiology and Neurology, as well as Director of Research Education in the Department of Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania. He has been awarded the Georg Charles de Hevesy Nuclear Pioneer Award and the Cassen Prize from the Society of Nuclear Medicine.
