PLACID PINES: A JERSEY DEVIL HORROR

Previously published under the pen name Thomas Myers

Some legends should stay buried...

Deep in the forests of the New Jersey Pine Barrens, a new community is rising from the wilderness.

They call it Placid Pines.

A quiet place.
A safe place.
A place where nothing ever happens.

Until the bodies appear.

When a young couple is brutally murdered on a lonely trail near the development, Lieutenant John Dunn of the Hammonton Detective Bureau is called to investigate. The scene makes no sense—victims torn apart, strange claw-like tracks in the sand, and a foul stench lingering in the night air.
The evidence suggests something impossible.

Something not human.

As fear spreads through the growing community, Dunn turns to wilderness tracker Tim Bowman, a man who knows the Pine Barrens better than anyone alive. Together they begin a hunt that leads deep into the dark heart of the forest—where an ancient legend may be waiting.
For centuries locals have whispered about a winged creature that stalks the pines.
A creature born from the cursed thirteenth child of Mother Leeds.

The Jersey Devil.

Most people believe it's just a story.

But something has awakened in the Pine Barrens.

And it’s hunting again.

Placid Pines is a chilling supernatural thriller that blends creature horror, folklore, and investigative suspense in the eerie wilderness of southern New Jersey.
