398 pp; This great book has trace edgewear at a front edge dent and at spine tips, minor spine darkening, previous owner's nameplate on front pastedowns, and lightly foxed endpapers. Still an attractive book however with top edge gilt, illustrated cover, full color frontis, BW illustrations throughout, a secure binding, and an unmarked text. Surtees works were as engaging and vigorous as they were comic and entertaining, and his novels remain entirely enjoyable today -- Thackeray envied Surtees' powers of observation and William Morris considered Surtees 'a master of life' and ranked him with Dickens.; Always Delivery Confirmation. 35 Years Fast Excellent Service.
