Handsomely bound in dark red half morocco with gilt rules, panelled spine with gilt titles, top edge gilt, by Riviere, with binder's imprint at foot of pastedown inside front cover. pp lxxi + (506) Portrait frontispiece of Christina Rossetti. A Fine copy. Ex.libris Stephen Mitchell (1847-1920) of Gilkerscleugh, South Lanarkshire, with his large armourial bookplate. The Mitchell family were prominent Glasgow tobacco merchants who amassed a vast fortune, much of which was bequeathed to the city of Glasgow and helped found the Mitchell Library, now the largest public reference library in Europe.
