The PR - The Poetics of Running: A Book of Poetry in Motion

A book of poetry in motion was inspired by my running meditation as a runner and marathoner. Each poem has a corresponding picture that was taken during my runs and conveys the deep spiritual aspect of running when we look inward, or when we simply stop to take the views all in. The chapters of the book and the poems describe not only the beauty and tranquility of nature, but also the the pace and rhythm of life, as well as the body, mind, and soul of a runner. This book makes a perfect coffee table book due to its inspiring, transcendent poems, and beautiful pictures. At the end of the book, I have included 100 lessons that running has taught me, as well as 50 ways to write poetry to inspire the poet in each of us. Most poems are written in free verse and contain rich and playful imagery that I hope will delight and rejoice your souls and soles. Happy reading! Born and raised in Romania, Carmen Micsa moved to America in 1995, where she and her future husband Catalin Micsa have made Sacramento their home. Carmen Micsa has earned BA and MA degrees in English (Creative Writing) both from Sacramento State University. She has published her first book Change Your Grip on Life Through Tennis in 2016. She also published articles in a few local and national publications and a memoir piece Grandpa's Garden in the anthology From Sac Home Myths & Other Untruths together with some of her graduate school classmates. Besides writing, Carmen Micsa enjoys being a mother to her two beautiful and kind children Alex and Sophia. She owns her own real estate company, Dynamic Real Estate and prides herself for being organized and efficient in leading a balanced life. Carmen Micsa is an avid runner who has completed 10 marathons, including Boston, New York City, and Chicago. Besides running, Carmen loves to play tennis, practice yoga, Pilates, swim, and bike.
