690p; 16p ads in back. A green cloth hardcover book in very good condition. Edges lightly rubbed; spine faintly buckled down the middle. Early owner's signatures on front endpapers, plus an inscription dated 1906. Some pages lightly foxed, but otherwise, text unmarked and binding tight. An early book on X-rays, which were referred to as "Rontgen rays" after the scientist Wilhelm Conrad Rontgen, who discovered them. This book is illustrated with numerous black and white photographs, including fascinating before-and-after images of patients treated with X-rays.
