Kermit acquired this book while attending Harvard University in Cambridge. Not long after that, he accompanied his father on their African expedition. Kermit Roosevelt (1889 1943) was the second son of U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt. He was an explorer, a graduate of Harvard University, a soldier serving in two world wars with both the British and U.S. Armies, a businessman and a writer. Kermit Roosevelt accompanied Theodore Roosevelt on expeditions to Africa and the Amazon. Theodore Roosevelt's book Through the Brazilian Wilderness recounted the father-and-son expedition into the Amazon Basin Brazilian jungle in 1913 14. What became known as the Roosevelt-Rondon Scientific Expedition, exploring the Brazilian jungle with explorer Colonel Cāndido Rondon, they explored the River of Doubt, later renamed Rio Roosevelt in honor of the President.; Signed by Notable Personage, Unrelated.
