About this Item

This is a UK hardcover published by Macmillan in 1870. The book is in Good condition for its age with a light spine lean, grubby but firm boards and frayed spine along the vertical joins front and back. The binding is tight with clean pages that are heavily toned along the edges. However the seams have split front and back when you open the book, although the boards and text are firmly attached still. There is a fold out family tree and the frontispiece is present together with the tissue protector. The book has 305 pages and a further 55 pages of publications by Macmillan. The title page confirms the publication in 1870. Seller Inventory # 016894

I charge shipping that reflects my actual costs. I do NOT offer cheap shipping and add it to the book price so please do not complain to me that Bob down the road offers cheaper postage. Sure he does - but the price of his book is hiked to reclaim it, or you're referring to a power seller who can negotiate postage discounts. I can't - I'm a private individual selling my private collection. ABE only allows me to set one postage rate so I charge the rate for hardbacks sent in a box with bubble wrap and polystyrene peanuts. Where postage is less - eg a paperback or small hardback - I refund the difference once I get my receipts and know the exact cost. Tracking is NOT provided automatically on UK parcels - you have to choose priority mail AND pay an additional �7 postage on top.
